WAKEFIELD — The midway is back!

When the April school vacation rolls around, those of us in Wakefield know it’s time for the return of the Wakefield Independence Day Committee’s fundraising carnival.

The annual extravaganza will be open again this year at the Galvin Middle School, 525 Main St., starting on tomorrow, Tuesday, April 16 from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m.; Wednesday, Thursday and Friday from 2 p.m. to 10 p.m., and on Saturday, April 21 from noon to 10 p.m.

Everyone’s favorite rides will be there and on the menu are your usual carnival basics, including hot dogs, sausages, fried dough, and cotton candy. And don’t forget the midway games!

Individual tickets and wristbands are available for cash as well as credit and debit cards. Wristbands are available to purchase for $25 for unlimited rides during the noted 4 hour shifts, 5 hours on Saturday. Please note, rides are anywhere from 2-6 tickets per ride, per person. If your child has a wristband and you need to go on the rides with them, you will also need a wristband.

• Wednesday 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. and 6 p.m. to 10 p.m.
