OPERATION RESILIENT arrived back in Melrose on Saturday, May 11 after a poignant, two night trip to Washington, D.C. Sponsored by the Melrose Veteran’s Memory Project, the visit included 8th grade MVMMS students and invited veterans who were honored during the trip, with a focus on Afghanistan veterans. The bus was escorted by Melrose Police and Massachusetts State Police and greeted at home with an American flag hanging from the ladder trucks of the Melrose Fire Department. The annual trip included stops at the Vietnam, Korea and WWII memorials and trips to Arlington National Cemetery and the Pentagon. (Courtesy Photo)
