NORTH READING — The North Reading Parks and Recreation Youth Track and Field Program was another huge success. The program ran for six afternoons from June 11 to June 27.
Each day’s two-hour session consisted of expert instruction from NRHS track coach Sotirios Pintzopoulos followed by competition. Instruction included event rules, proper techniques, safety issues and insights into gaining a competitive edge in track and field.
On Thursday, June 27, awards were presented to the top boy and girl as overall athletes in their respective grades. All athletes were presented a participant ribbon and received a camp t-shirt on that date.
The best all-around athletes from each grade were as follows:
Kindergarten – Megan Millis and Daniel Molla.
First Grade – Devon Vant and William Nussbum.
Second Grade – Ruby Davidson and Luke Molla.
Third Grade – Chloe DeAngelis and Harry Agganis.
Fourth Grade – Sophia Gallivan and Sean Saulnier.
Fifth and Sixth Grade – Ava Vant and Chris Agganis.
