WAKEFIELD — On Saturday, members of the Wakefield Center Neighborhood Association continued repair work on the Memorial (Upper) Common fence. Town Administrator Steve Maio stopped by and visited with the work crew.

The original fence was installed many decades ago. Years of winter storms, corrosion and occasional collisions had degraded or destroyed many of the rails that sit between the handsome granite bollards lining the Common.

Last year WCNA completed the replacement of the fence rails along Main Street. This year members have been working to install new rails in the fence along Common Street.
