Weekend crashes keep Police, Fire Department busy...

Published in the February 29, 2016 edition. WAKEFIELD — Motor vehicle accidents kept the Police and Fire departments on the move over the weekend. At About 2 a.m. on Saturday, a caller reported that a car had crashed into a tree on his property. According to police, the driver, a Peabody woman, was making a left turn onto Keeling Road and crashed into a wall. She was transported to the hospital by Action Ambulance. She was also cited by police for a marked lanes violation. —– At about 11 a.m. on Saturday, Police, Fire and Action Ambulance went to Church Street and Lake Avenue after a collision between a 2013 Honda CRV and a 2003 Chevy truck. Senior qualifies for New England Wrestling Championships Published in the February 29, 2016 edition. READING — As it turned out, the Warrior wrestling team had one representative at the All-State Meet on Friday and Saturday at Reading High School. That Wakefield wrestler, senior captain Evan Gourville, had a very good showing at the Hawkes Field House. Gourville came in fifth overall at the 170 weight class and that performance has resulted in him qualifying for the New England Wresting Championships which will be held Friday and Saturday in Providence, R.I. Gourville won his first two matches by decision. The senior prevailed by a 4-2 tally over Methuen’s Travis Manick. Paula was pre-deceased by her husband Syd, her parents Thomas A. Norris and Margaret L. Ross Norris “Momi-Lou” and brother Larry Norris.
