Question 4 involves legalizing marijuana for recreational use and allowing it to be sold commercially. The proposed law under Question 4 would permit the possession, use, distribution and cultivation of marijuana in limited amounts by persons age 21 and older, and would remove criminal penalties for such activities. Lynn man arrested for OUI

WAKEFIELD — A 36-year-old Lynn man was arrested on multiple motor vehicle charges including operating under the influence of alcohol after police stopped the white van he was driving on Salem Street late Friday night. Police said that an officer on patrol in his cruiser saw the van traveling east at a high rate of speed toward Lynnfield. The officer activated the lights on his cruiser but the van continued for another 3/4 of a mile before stopping in the middle of Salem Street near Walnut Street in Lynnfield. While speaking with the driver, the officer detected an odor of alcohol. As the current Danvers High head coach, he led his Falcons to a victory which ended Wakefield’s championship aspirations for 2016. Danvers was better in every phase of the game as the third-seeded Falcons blanked the sixth-ranked Warriors, 28-0, on Friday night in a Div. 2A North quarterfinal game on Morse Field at Dr. Deering Stadium. Published in the October 31, 2016 edition. WAKEFIELD — Matthew G. Silvano, 27, of Wakefield died on Thursday, Oct. 28, at his residence after a courageous 18 month battle with colon cancer. Born in Melrose on Dec. 17, 1988, he was the beloved son of David M. and Marcella (Muse) Silvano of Wakefield. Matthew was raised in Wakefield and was a graduate of Wakefield Memorial High School and Northeast Metropolitan Regional Vocational School. He was a licensed electrician for Driscoll Electrical in Medford. Matthew enjoyed fishing, boating and camping along the Saco River in Maine. In addition to his parents, Matthew is survived by his brother Michael D. Silvano and his sister Michaila L. Silvano of Wakefield.
