The Lucius Beebe Memorial Library Board of Trustees has unanimously voted to offer Catherine McDonald, Assistant Director of the Beebe Library the position of Library Director. Sharon Gilley, the current director, is retiring today after 40 years of service. McDonald has been the Assistant Director for nearly seven years. Prior to her appointment as Assistant Director, she was the library’s Administrative Assistant for ten years. During that time, she earned her Master’s Degree in Library and Information Science from Simmons College in Boston. Outgoing Director Gilley said of McDonald’s selection, “I talked with Catherine about every decision of any significance. We share the same principles of service, but Catherine has wisdom and vision. The team’s first game is tonight at 5:45 p.m. at Fernald Field against Lexington. The American League All-Stars: David Amyouny, Nathan Ickes, Luke Ickes, Matt Elwell, Gianni Mercurio, Chris Munroe, John Porter, Thomas Grover, Philip D’Alleva, Will Garside, Dillon Johnson, Tyler Sandonato, Drew Barrett and Andrew Almquist. Armed robbery reported

Published in the June 30, 2017 edition MELROSE — Three people were arrested Monday morning, June 26, for their alleged involvement in the armed robbery of an Everett man. Police arrested two Mount Vernon Avenue adults and will summons a juvenile after investigating a claim the three were involved in ripping off the victim. According to police, the juvenile girl became acquainted with the victim through some kind of dating app. The girl and the victim agreed to meet in the area of Main Street, Potomac Street and Mount Vernon Avenue sometime late Sunday, June 25, or early Monday morning.
