Published in the October 30, 2017 edition. WILMINGTON — Dr. Patricia Louise Capone Tamagini, 78, passed away Thursday, October 26, 2017, following a 10-year battle with metastatic lung cancer. She passed away peacefully at 3 p.m., surrounded by her family. She was born January 11, 1939, in Wakefield. She was the daughter of the late Florence Marie Capone and Louis Capone, and sister to the late Paula Marie Capone. She was a devoted and loving wife, mother, and grandmother who cherished her family and friends. She is survived by her husband of 55 years, Attorney James Earl Tamagini Sr., and her children: James Earl Tamagini Jr., Lisa-Anne Tamagini, Lora Tamagini and Patricia Tamagini-Dayhoff. Storm alert: Overnight storm downs trees, poles; cancels school...

Posted on: Monday, October 30, 2017 NORTH READING — According to the town’s Department of Public Works (DPW) and public safety personnel, Sunday night’s storm has resulted in a significant number of downed trees, tree limbs, utility poles and wires throughout town. There have also been power outages, isolated ponding on roadways, and in some instances, trees falling on homes. The DPW urges residents to exercise caution when traveling and are thanked for their patience as crews from multiple agencies work to open roads and restore power. DPW crews have been responding to calls for downed trees and limbs since 11 p.m. Sunday and have removed or pushed aside trees or limbs at 35 locations.  Crews have also been clearing catch basins of leaves and debris. The North Reading Police and Fire Departments has responded to...

WAKEFIELD — Police and the Department of Public Works report that a portion of Albion Street will be closed to traffic Sunday from noon to 5 p.m. while the town holds its family-oriented Spooktacular 2017 activities. Albion Street will be closed from Main Street to North Avenue. Parking along that stretch of Albion Street will be prohibited. People of all ages are welcome to join in the fun of the Spooktacular, which will include face painting, balloon twisting, temporary tattoo stations, in-costume photo opportunities, giant-sized games and much more Halloween excitement.
