WAKEFIELD — Anna Welsh, 78, of Wakefield, died Friday, December 29, 2017, at the Beverly Hospital.

Born in Italy, she was the daughter of the late Antonio and Giovanna (Gasbarri) Berardinangelo.

Anna was born and raised in Italy until moving to the United States at the age of 15 and settling in Wakefield. While growing up in Italy, she trained as a seamstress. She worked in the garment industry in Boston for many years before becoming a nurse’s aide at the New England Rehab of Woburn. She enjoyed cooking, spending time with her family, and going to Foxwoods with her family.

She was the beloved wife of John A. “Jack” Welsh and the late Melbourne J. Doucette Jr. Anna was the loving mother of David Doucette of Fla., Dean Doucette and Julie of Somersworth, N.H., Mary Jane “Janie” Mohla and her husband Tom of Wakefield, and Sean Welsh of Wakefield. She was the sister of Bruna Welch of Peabody and the late Alderio Berardinangelo, and Valia Perry. Anna is also survived by 7 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.

Her funeral will be held from the McDonald Funeral Home, 19 Yale Ave., Wakefield on Thursday at
9 a.m. followed by a funeral mass in St. Florence Church, 47 Butler Ave., Wakefield at 10 o’clock. Visitation for relatives and friends will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday from 4-8 p.m. Interment, Forest Glade Cemetery.
