WAKEFIELD — Anne Ventola, age 94, a Wakefield resident, died Friday, October 16 at her residence.

Born on March 1, 1926, she was the daughter of the late Anthony and Josephine (Salerno) Ventola. She was the sister of Frank Ventola of Dover and the late Richard M. Ventola. She was the aunt to many nieces and nephews: Joellen Thwing and husband David of OR; Jane E. Shattuck of Wakefield; Valerie Magazzu of FL; Andrea Creelman and husband Joshua of West Boylston; Allen Ventola and wife Mamie of SC; Andrew Shattuck and wife Lisa of CT; and Justin Ventola of Framingham. She is also survived by several grand nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her nephew Garth Ventola.

Anne was raised in East Boston and was a graduate of East Boston High School and Northeastern University. She later received her doctorate in education from the University of South Florida. She had worked for many years as a teacher and administrator for the town of Billerica. Anne was a lifelong learner, avid reader, gardener, and traveler. Above all, she loved her family.

A graveside service will be held at Lakeside Cemetery, North Avenue, Wakefield on Tuesday at 1:30 p.m. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Arrangements in the care of the McDonald Funeral Home, Wakefield.
