WAKEFIELD — Arthur W. Fairfield, 85, a longtime Wakefield residence died on Monday, July 20 at the Melrose-Wakefield Hospital.
Born in Wakefield on June 6, 1930 he was the son of the late Percy and Mildred (Slack) Fairfield.
Mr. Fairfield was a graduate of Wakefield High School, Class of 1948. He was a retired master carpenter for the Town of Wakefield School Department.
Mr. Fairfield was the husband of the late Frances M. (Leggett) Fairfield. He is survived by his three daughter: June E. Hawkins and her husband Bobby Joe of Arkansas, Patricia A. Devine and her husband William and Sandra J. Furrier and her husband Christopher, all of Wakefield, and his five grandchildren: Brian and Adam Marsden, Julie Esposito, Jessica Devine and Christopher R. Furrier. Mr. Fairfield was the brother of the late Doris Sauliner and Earl Fairfield.
A graveside service will be held on Thursday, Aug. 6 at Lakeside Cemetery in Wakefield at 11 a.m. Relatives and friends are invited to attend.
Arrangements are in the care of the McDonald Funeral Home in Wakefield.
