Published August 23, 2019 MELROSE — Marion J. Ford, 91, of Melrose, formerly from Everett passed away on August 18, 2019. She was the devoted and loving mother of Theresa J. Parella of Melrose and Marion Iandolo of Winthrop, the late Roger A. Ford and the late John F. Ford, Jr. She also leaves her dear son-in-law Richard Parella of Melrose and her two treasured brothers, Wayne Joslin of New Hampshire and Allen Joslin of New York; and her cherished sister-in-law’s Norah Ford and Mary McCormack of Stoneham. Marion was the proud grandmother of Marc, Jon, Rich, Michelle, Paul and Talia. She is also survived by several great-grandchildren. Published August 23, 2019 MELROSE — Dr. Edward R. Boyd, 88, of Melrose, died at the Aberjona Nursing Center in Winchester on August 15, 2019. Dr. Boyd was born and raised in Everett and a graduate of Everett High School, Class of 1948. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War on the USS Franklin D. Roosevelt aircraft carrier from 1948-1952. Ed went on to Boston University and earned his associates in Arts degree in 1953, bachelors in Education in 1957, masters in Education in 1969 and a doctorate in Education in 1973. He resided in Melrose since 1963 and was a member of Bellevue Golf Club in Melrose for over 25 years. She was born in East Boston on July 4, 1921 to the late Peter and Josephine (Ciabburi) Lanzilli. Phyllis was raised in Somerville and graduated from Somerville High School, Class of 1938. Prior to her marriage to Vincent, Phyllis worked in the payroll department at Filenes and knew Mr. Filenes personally.   She lived in Somerville for many years and then all over the country in California, Florida, North Carolina, Washington, D.C. and several other states due to her husband’s job with the Department of Defense.
