U.S. Navy veteran, H-O train enthusiast Published May 28, 2020 WILDWOOD, Florida — Richard E. Merriman, 94, of Wildwood, Fla., went to be with his Lord on Tuesday, April 28, 2020. Dick Merriman was born September 15, 1925 in Buffalo, N.Y. to Harry and Hildred (Eisenhaure) Merriman. He was raised in North Reading, Mass. and upon graduating high school in 1943 he entered the U.S. Navy. The Navy sent him for specialized training at both Dartmouth and Yale, and he was then transferred to Great Lakes in Chicago where he completed his service in 1946 at the Fleet Home Town News Center. Born in Boston on August 14, 1932, he was the son of the late Carlos P. and Rose (DeBellis) Faria. He was a graduate of Boston English High School, Fitchburg State College, and received his Master of Education from Salem State College. Bill was a U.S. Air Force Korean War veteran who served as a Staff Sargent from 1952-1956. Laquidara, 79, of North Reading and formerly of Boston, died at his home on Saturday, May 9, 2020 after a short illness. Born in Boston on May 1, 1941, he was the son of the late Carmelo and Antoinetta (LaMacchia) Laquidara. He graduated from Hyde Park High School in Boston and worked for Camp Dresser and McKee until his retirement in 2011. Tom was a U.S. Army Vietnam Veteran, stationed in Orleans, France, for three years. He lived in Boston before moving to North Reading in 1976. She was the beloved wife of 58 years to the late Edwin A. Rouillard. Born in Ephrata, Pennsylvania on April 11, 1921, she was the daughter of the late Lester and Helen (Brunner) Keller. She was raised in a small farmhouse in Clay, Pennsylvania, relocating to Massachusetts after her marriage to Edwin in 1949, and then to North Reading in November of 1953.
