NORTH READING — Interested in fish tales? Come hear Charlie Moore, host of “Charlie Moore Outdoors” on the New England Sports Network (NESN) and “Charlie Moore: No Offense” on the NBC Sports Network, give a presentation on Thursday, July 19 at the Flint Memorial Library, 147 Park St. (Route 62) at 7 p.m.

Moore, who is known as a high-energy, humorous host, has received a number of New England Emmy Awards for his work on Charlie Moore Outdoors. He is a member of the New England Sports Hall of Fame.

Moore’s memoir, “The Mad Fisherman,” was published in 2008 by St. Martin’s Press. The book chronicle’s Moore’s path from unemployment and near-poverty to celebrated host of two top-rated sports television programs.

According to his website, “Charlie Moore brings you the best of New England fishing every week on NESN. Don’t think fishing is exciting? We guarantee that Charlie can change your mind. You never can tell what Charlie will do, so let’s get our lures in the water and go fishing with Charlie Moore.”

Throughout its years on the air, Charlie Moore Outdoors has featured many celebrities from sports giants like Bobby Orr, Drew Bledsoe and Tom Brady to others like members of rap legends Run D.M.C. to Adam West, TV’s Batman. Its 250th episode premiered this year.
