MELROSE — The long-awaited day is almost here. On Saturday, September 21 the citywide yard sale will take place in Melrose. The registration date for being listed on the yard sale map has gone by and the list, already at the printers, will be ready for pick-up on Friday. Shoppers, you will find the maps at the entrance of the Milano Center, Melrose Public Library and City Hall.

Every person who has registered will be listed on the map that shoppers will be able to use to locate each individual participant’s address. A cluster of yard sales will be set up by registrants on the lawn of the Beebe Estate located in front of the Milano Center and directly across the street from the Levi Gould Senior Housing Complex located at 200 West Foster Street.

The yard sales will be held rain or shine, from 9 a.m. until 2 p.m. and the city of Melrose will be abuzz with activity. Remember the old adage – “One man’s trash is another man’s treasure.” Wear your comfortable shoes and prepare to scout around Melrose for some great treasures.

Friends of the Milano Center, Inc., is sponsoring this event to benefit our local senior center. Not only may you find a real bargain but you will be helping us raise funds so that we can further enrich the lives of our local elders with enrichment and counseling programs, art classes, several forms of exercise groups, and fun and entertainment presentations.
