WAKEFIELD — Edna M. Gilfeather, 100, a longtime Wakefield resident died on Tuesday, October 1, 2019 at the Beverly Hospital.

Born in Melrose on November 4, 1918, she was the daughter of the late Sylvine and Mary (Babin) Bourque.

Mrs. Gilfeather was raised and educated in Melrose and was a graduate of St. Mary’s High School in Melrose. She was a retired technician for Transitron Electronic Corporation in Wakefield and Semicon Inc. in Burlington. Mrs. Gilfeather was an avid Bingo player and enjoyed crocheting. She loved spending time with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Gilfeather was the wife of the late John F. Gilfeather. She is survived by her two sons; John J. Gilfeather and his wife Kathleen of Westford, Richard T. Gilfeather and his wife Ellen of Maynard, her two daughters; Joyce A. Marino and her husband Robert of Peabody and Patricia J. Hecht and her husband Kenneth of Gloucester and her brother Robert Bourque of Fla. She is also survived by her 10 grandchildren and her five great-grandchildren. Mrs. Gilfeather was predeceased by her four sisters; Margaret Park, Helen Harrison, Shirley Claflin and Agnes Caviston and her brother Eli Bourque.

Visitation for relatives and friends will be held at the McDonald Funeral Home, 19 Yale Ave, Wakefield on Monday from 4-7 p.m. Her funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday at 11 a.m. Interment will be at Forest Glade Cemetery, Wakefield.
