READING — Elizabeth W. Merrill, a long-time resident of Peter Sanborn Place in Reading, died Wednesday, September 20, 2017 at Daniels House Nursing Home in Reading.

Born on August 7, 1918, in Bradford, Massachusetts, Libby graduated from Haverhill High School in 1936 and Stoneleigh College in 1938. She was employed for many years as a teller at Bay Bank Merrimack Valley in Georgetown. Shortly after retiring in 1980, she moved to Tucson, Arizona, returning every summer to spend time with family before moving to Peter Sanborn Place in 1993.

Libby was the loving mother of Susan Mobley and her husband Archie of Nashua, New Hampshire, and Linda Slusarz and her husband Andrew of Wakefield. She was the proud grandmother of Heather Taylor and her husband Greg of Satellite Beach, Florida; Scott Mobley and his wife Kim-ly of Amherst, New Hampshire; and Jeremy Slusarz and his wife Rachel of Madison, New Jersey. She was the great grandmother of Gabe, Abby and Josh Taylor; Cole, Mason and Owen Mobley; and Julian Slusarz. She was predeceased by her husband Richard E. Merrill and her sisters Gwendolyn Pettengill and Barbara Peabody.

A private service will be held on Friday, September 29, at Conte–Giamberardino Funeral Home, Georgetown, MA. Burial will follow at Harmony Cemetery, also in Georgetown. www.cgfuneralhomegeorgetown.com
