WAKEFIELD — We’re having a party and everyone’s invited to “locally grown” for Festival Italia 2018.

Thursday, August 16 – Samplings & Satire 6 – 10:30 p.m.  

Join us on Thursday, August 16 for an evening of Samplings & Satire held at Four Points Sheraton Wakefield. Between 6 – 7 p.m., the evening will start with passed hors d’oeuvres and tastings of beer and tequila, then we will feature samplings from 10 local restaurants from 7 – 8:30 p.m., and from 8:30 – 9:15 nationally renowned, and locally grown comedian Brad Mastrangelo will lighten things up with his hilarious stand-up comedy. At 9:15 p.m. a DJ will be cranking up the music for the dancers in the house while dessert and coffee are served. Tickets are $40 and can be purchased at Smith Drug Store, 390 Main St. or going to our website www.wakefieldcommunitypartnership.org and using PayPal.

Saturday, August 18 – Festival Italia

The Wakefield Community Partnership is proud to host the 9th Annual Festival and plans are being formulated to put on another free, fun, family-friendly event featuring food, music, entertainment, children’s events and more.

To date the Wakefield Community Partnership has planned the following:

* Boys & Girls Club will sponsor a Kids’ Zone at the Lincoln St. parking lot;

* Street performers will be entertaining along Main and Albion Streets;

* Hartshorne/Curley Insurance will set up a kids area across from their office on Albion St.;

* La Piazza, sponsored by The Savings Bank, will be set up in front of The Savings Bank, and is a great place to meet up with friends and family;

* Three stages will be featuring music;

* The popular train ride will return, as well as the Wheel of Chance;

* Merchants and organizations will be set up along Main St. and Albion St.
