JAMAICA PLAIN — Grace Ham, 96, of Jamaica Plain and formerly of Melrose, passed away on Sunday, July 16, at the Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in Boston. 

She was born on November 29, 1920, a daughter of the late Vahan Terchoonian and Naomi (Krikorian) Terchoonian.

Grace was born in Boston and grew up in Chelsea. She graduated from Chelsea High School and went on to complete her associate’s degree at Burdett College. In 1955, she married James L. Ham.

Grace worked as a legal secretary for two Boston law firms until her retirement in the early 1990’s. After retirement, Grace enjoyed reading, baking, playing bridge with her friends and spending time with her 5 grandchildren. 

Grace is the beloved wife of the late James L. Ham and dear sister of the late Lillian Terchoonian.  She is survived by her daughter Naomi Ham-Agustin, her son-in-law Elmer Agustin and 5 grandchildren, Marissa, Michael, Angela, Rebecca, and Rosenda Agustin.

Relatives and friends will gather in honor of Grace’s life for her funeral service at the Robinson Funeral Home, 809 Main St., Melrose on Saturday, Sept. 2 at 9 a.m.
