WAKEFIELD — On a beautiful Monday morning, there was a great turnout for the 3rd Annual Kelly Ledoux-Walsh 5K, held at Lake Quannapowitt at the Wakefield lower common. The race is run in memory of Kelly.

The event raises money for a scholarship in Kelly’s name and supports the Wakefield Memorial High School Cross Country and Track and Field programs.

The event got kicked off with a one mile fun run for the kids. The race was won by 5th grader Patrick Maloney in a time of 7:37. Fellow 5th grader Taylor Miller placed 2nd in 7:40. Third place went to James Maloney in 8:40.

On the girls’ side, Riley Stevenson won the race and placed 3rd overall in a time of 7:58. Katelyn Towne was 2nd (4th overall) in a time of 8:10. Ava Curran placed 3rd (5th overall) in a time of 8:26.

In the 5K race, the overall winner was Merrimack College alum, Phil Harris in a time of 16:31. The female winner was Suzy Macero in a time of 20:40 placing 4th overall.

2nd place finisher Shawn Conway finished in 18:48 to take 1st in the 40-59 year old age group. 3rd place finisher Eric Jellison finished in 19:00 to take 2nd in the 40-59 year old age group.

In the girls 13 and under division, Liza Bangston was 1st in a time of 22:27. Fiona Recene was 2nd in 24:56.

In the boys 13 and under division, Robbie Kimball was 1st in a time of 24:03. Evan Buonopane-Cohen was 2nd in 26:10.

In the womens’ 14-39 age group, Hanna Scollard placed 1st in 21:09. Erica Morin was 2nd in 22:05.

In the mens’ 14-39 age group, Phil Harris was 1st in 16:31. Kevin Frasca was 2nd in 21:34.

In the 40-59 year old womens’ division, Pam Barnard was 1st in 24:08. Pam Lucci was 2nd in 24:44.

In the 60 and above male division, Paul Quinn, placed 1st in 23:59. Jeff Kravitz placed 2nd in 25:39.
