WAKEFIELD — The second annual Healthy Living Expo, sponsored by the Wakefield/Lynnfield Chamber of Commerce and held on Saturday, Oct. 13 at the Americal Civic Center, drew hundreds of people from inside and outside the town in spite of the rainy weather.

The free, community family event featured many attractions, including a local Board of Public Health flu clinic, demonstration of a machine that assesses body composition, free samples of health and beauty products, flavor infused water and a visit from the Boston Bruins Mascot “Blades.”

The day also included games and face painting, health screenings and free child ID safety cards.

Chamber Executive Director John Smolinsky said he was pleased with the turnout, given the inclement weather.

Title sponsors were Lahey Health and MelroseWakefield Hospital. Other sponsors included The Savings Bank, Bella Mano, Move 2 Joy Yoga Studio with donations from Bitsy’s Brainfood, Glee Gum, Hint, That’s How We Roll, Justin’s and Olivia’s Organics.

Presentations were also made by the Wakefield Youth Action Team (Healthy Me Wall), Lahey Health (The Difference Between Urgent Care and Emergency Care) and Melrose-Wakefield Hospital (Occupational Healthy Tips).
