WAKEFIELD — Jean K. (Luciano) Camerato, 80, died at home on Friday, November 8, 2019.

Born in Wakefield, Jean was the daughter of the late Domenic and Josephine Luciano. She graduated from Wakefield High School in 1956. In the 1970’s Jean, known as “the hawk,” was a manager for the St. Joseph’s Conquistadors CYO band, for many years. She worked as a purchasing agent for J.N. Phillips Glass Co. for 35 years where she was well respected. She enjoyed avid reading and crocheting for her many relatives and friends. Jean was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt and a friend to many; she will be missed dearly by all who knew her.

Jean is survived by her husband, Carmine Camerato, Jr., children Joseph Cresta of Wakefield; Michael (Mary) Cresta of North Reading; and Richard (Nancy) Cresta of Reading; stepson and stepdaughter, Carmine (Victoria) Camerato, Watertown; Christine Camerato and fiancé John Caruso of Watertown; her sister, Mary Gallugi of Melrose, her brother, Pasquale Luciano, of Wakefield, and her sister, Evelyn Ciampa, of Wakefield, and grandchildren Caylee, Tiffany, CJ, Bobby, Courtney, Robert, Mikey, Mackenzie, Sofia, Giavanna, Santino, Gennaro, and great-grandchildren Lucci, Noelani, and many nieces and nephews; She was predeceased by her son, the late James Cresta.

Her funeral will be held from the McDonald Funeral Home, 19 Yale Ave. Wakefield on Friday, November 15 at 9 a.m., followed by a funeral Mass in St. Florence Church 47 Butler Ave., Wakefield at 10 a.m. Interment, Forest Glade Cemetery Wakefield. Visitation for relatives and friends will be held at the funeral home on Thursday from 4-8 p.m.
