Longtime resident loved spending time with family

LYNNFIELD – Jean Elizabeth (Hoering) Otis, 86, formerly a 47-year resident of Lynnfield, and an over 10-year resident of Brooksby Village, Peabody, passed away on Monday, August 7, 2017 at the Rosewood Nursing Home in Peabody. 

Jean was the daughter of the late Frederick and Anne (Burden) Hoering. She was the beloved wife of the late Robert L. Otis, with whom she shared 46 years of marriage. She was the devoted mother of Gordon Otis of Chelsea; Judy and her husband Michael Curtin of Amesbury; and Cheryl Ash of Dover, New Hampshire. She was the cherished grandmother of Summer and Olivia Curtin. She was the dear sister of Frederick Hoering and his wife, Beverly, of Wisconsin and Florida. She was also the aunt of several nieces and nephews.

Born and raised in Everett, Jean was a graduate of Everett High School. Primarily a homemaker, she worked as a secretary at Hood Milk before she was married. Jean loved spending time with her entire family especially her grandchildren.

Jean’s Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, August 10 at 11:30 a.m. at the Cuffee-McGinn Funeral Home, 157 Maple St., Lynn. Burial will follow at Forrest Hill Cemetery, Lynnfield. Relatives and friends are invited. Visiting hours will be held from 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. in the funeral home prior to the funeral.
