WAKEFIELD — Jeffrey James Owen, 32, the son of Jeffrey Douglas and the late Sarah Ann (Crabtree) Owen, was born 19 June 1985 at the New England Memorial Hospital in Stoneham, and died suddenly 22 December 2017 in Wakefield, where he lived with his father and grandfather Owen. He suffered from asthma and COPD or Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease.

Jeffrey is survived by his daughter, the love of his life, Jestina Sarah “Stina” Owen of Merrimac; the mother of his daughter, Jessica Gearhart of Merrimac; his father, Jeffrey Douglas Owen of Wakefield; and grandparents, Duane Edmund and Sayoko (Matsumoto) Crabtree of Melrose. He is also survived by his aunt, Janice (Owen) Thomas, Uncle Peter and cousins, Nathaniel and Callie. Also survived by his siblings, Katherine, Lillian, Elizabeth, and Mariellen Owen, and Justin Douglas Silva. Also Jeffrey is survived by great aunts and uncles, Bernard Crabtree and Ralph and Eunice (Crabtree) Gulliver, cousin Carol (Gulliver) Hilton and her sons, Tyler and Garrett. Jeffrey also has many aunts, uncles and cousins in Japan, whom he met on one unforgettable visit there over Christmas and New Years when he was young.

His mother, Sarah Ann Crabtree Owen McCaffrey died in 2006; his grand-mother, Lorraine Frances Gorman Owen died in 2010; and his grandfather, Jerry Douglas Owen died in 2018.

Jeffrey attended public schools in Wakefield and Haverhill and graduated in 2007 from Whittier Regional Vocational Technical High School in Haverhill. He was employed as a stone mason for many years most recently with H&R Masonry, Inc.

Our dear Jeffrey was friendly, out-going, hard-working, always willing to lend a hand and generous to all.

Burial will be private.
