WAKEFIELD — Josephine M. Adams, 87, of Wakefield died Thursday, July 5, 2018 at the Brightview Senior Living Center in Wakefield.

Born in Kenne, N.H. on February 2, 1931 she was the daughter of the late Anthony and Frances (Amorosa) Columbus.

Mrs. Adams was raised in Keene, N.H. and was a graduate of Keene High School. She married in 1949. She had worked as a clerk at Kmart for many years and loved spending time with her family.

She was the beloved wife of the late Edward A. Adams. She was the loving mother of Michael E. Adams and his wife Sue of Gloucester, William K. Adams and his wife Dianne of Stoneham, and Timothy A. Adams and his wife Deborah of Stoneham. She was the sister of Robert Columbus and his wife Peggy of Stoneham, Teresa Vallee and her husband Victor of Hull, and the late James Columbus. She was the sister-in-law of Clara Columbus of Braintree. She was the cherished grandmother of Matthew, Ashley, John, Sam, and Casey Adams and Courtney Davison. She is also survived by three great-grandchildren: John Davison, Connor McClory, and Faith Harmon.

Her funeral service will be held in the McDonald Funeral Home, 19 Yale Ave., Wakefield on Saturday at 11 a.m. Interment, Lakeside Cemetery, Wakefield. Visitation for relatives and friends will be at the funeral home prior to the service beginning at 10 a.m.
