WAKEFIELD — Julia Adams, 84, of Wakefield, formerly of Malden, died Tuesday, January 9, 2018 at her residence surrounded by her family.

Born in Boston on July 2, 1933, she was the daughter of the late Andrew and Eftalia (Nini) Adams.

Mrs. Adams was raised in Boston and was a graduate of South Boston High School. She had worked as a secretary for the State Banking Commission before her retirement. She had been a longtime Malden resident before moving to Wakefield 13 years ago. Mrs. Adams was a member of St. George Cathedral in South Boston. She enjoyed traveling, trips to Foxwoods, time spent in Mashpee, as well as the Wakefield Senior Center. She became an avid New England Patriots fan later in life.

Julia was the loving wife of the late George R. Adams. She was the adored and loving mother of Susan M. Lacy of Stoneham, Joan E. Morabito and her husband
Anthony, and Audrey A. Murphy and her husband Dennis, all of Wakefield. She was the sister of the late Basil Adams, Angelo Adams and Netta Hanlon. She was the sister-in-law of Jerry Hanlon, Connie Metro, Kathleen Adams and Elizabeth Adams.

She was the loving grandmother of Katie Dalton and her husband James, Allison Lacy-Slager and her husband Jay, Joseph Lacy, Kimberly and Julie Morabito, Jennifer Cabezas and her husband Jon, and Nicholas Murphy. She was the adoring great-grandmother of Hank and Maggie Dalton, Evie Hatch, Norah Slager and Thomas Cabezas. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Visitation for relatives and friends will be held at the McDonald Funeral Home, 19 Yale Ave., Wakefield on Sunday from 3-6 p.m. Her funeral will be held at the St. George Cathedral, 523 E.
