WILMINGTON — Leo L. Pistorino, 94, of Wilmington, formerly of Melrose, died at the Melrose Wakefield Hospital on May 15, 2018.

Leo was born and raised in Somerville and a graduate of Somerville High School, Class of 1942. After high school, Leo proudly served his country in the Army Air Corp during WWII from 1942-1945. After returning from WWII, he went back to school and received his degree from Northeastern University. He resided in Melrose from 1956-1992 and the past 26 years in Wilmington. Leo worked as a Hydro Mechanical Engineer for Raytheon for 40 years before his retirement at the age of 66. He was a member of the Raytheon 500 Club, where he was one of the original 500 employees. Leo enjoyed building, fixing and repairing clocks and also remodeling his home.

He was the beloved husband of the late Anna W. (Abbene) Pistorino for almost 50 years. Loving father of Robert Pistorino and his wife Marie of Hawaii, Richard Pistorino and his wife Karen of W. Yarmouth, William Pistorino and his wife Roxana of Melrose, Anne Marie Giuliano and her husband Richard of Winchester, Mark Pistorino and his wife Lynne of Wakefield, and Donna Amidon and her husband Kevin of Billerica. Caring brother of Paul Pistorino and his wife Eleanor of Melrose and the late Yolanda Capone, Olympia Caparella, Emma Cote and Anthony Pistorino. Also survived by 10 grandchildren, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

Visiting Hours will be held on Tuesday, May 22 from 5-8 p.m., at the Gately Funeral Home, 79 W. Foster St., Melrose. Procession from the Gately Funeral Home on Wednesday, May 23 at 8:45 a.m., followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at Most Blessed Sacrament Church, 1155 Main St., Wakefield at 10 a.m. Interment with military honors in Wildwood Cemetery, Wilmington. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend.
