READING — Lorraine M. “Lorry” Moores, 65, of Reading, formerly of Wakefield, died Tuesday, June 11, 2019 at the Wingate Nursing Home in Reading.
Born in Alexandria, Louisiana on March 30, 1954 she was the daughter of Beverly L. (Spousta) Moores of Wakefield and the late Robert E. Moores.
Lorry was raised in Wakefield and was a graduate of Wakefield High School, Class of 1972. She received her associates degree in Early Childhood Education from Bryant and Stratton College of Boston. Lorry was also active in the Greenwood Union Church.
She was the mother of Stephanie Lynne Moores. She was the sister of Robert E. Moores, Jr. and his wife Deborah of Wakefield, Doug Moores and his wife Tricia of North Andover, and Cathy A. McCarthy of Somerville. She was the aunt of Geoffrey Moores and his wife Christina, Jill O’Leary and her husband Jake, Doug Moores and his wife Ally, and Emmet McCarthy. She was also the great aunt of Hayden O’Leary.
Visitation for relatives and friends will be held at the McDonald Funeral Home, 19 Yale Ave., Wakefield on Wednesday from 10 a.m. – 12 noon followed by a funeral service in the funeral home at 12 noon. Interment, Forest Glade Cemetery, Wakefield.
