WAKEFIELD — Louis Thomas “Lou” Corcoran, 74, a longtime Wakefield resident died peacefully at his residence surrounded by his family and friends on Friday, February 9, 2018. Born in Watertown on November 5, 1943 he was the son of the late Francis and Mary (Meyers) Corcoran.

Mr. Corcoran was raised in Watertown and was a graduate of Watertown High School. He had been a longtime Wakefield resident and was a member of St. Joseph Parish. He had worked for the MBTA for 27 years before retiring as a Machinist Mechanic. Since retirement, Mr. Corcoran had worked part-time for Keith’s Tree Service. He loved spending time at his cabin in Bethel, Maine; he also enjoyed tractors and snowmobiling. Above all, he loved spending time with his grandchildren.

He was the beloved husband of Karen A. (Howard) Corcoran. He was the loving father of Daniel L. Corcoran and his wife Michelle of Wakefield and Christopher P. Corcoran and his wife Jennifer of Mission Viejo, Calif.. He was the brother of Mary Ann Skahan of Belmont and the late Francis Corcoran. He was the adoring grandfather of Cameron, Connor, Amelia, and Thomas. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends.

His funeral will be held from the McDonald Funeral Home, 19 Yale Ave., Wakefield on Wednesday at 9:30 a.m., followed by a funeral Mass in St. Joseph Church, 173 Albion St., Wakefield at 10:30 a.m. Visitation for relatives and friends will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday from 5-8 p.m. Interment will be private.
