Nastari noted the B team passed over 1,500 yards, ran over 1,500 yards and received over 1,500 yards.

Selectman Chris Barrett said the board is incredibly proud of the B team winning the Super Bowl this fall.

“These student-athletes give us great pride,” said Barrett. “The future is certainly bright in Lynnfield.”

Selectmen Chairman Phil Crawford agreed.

“Congratulations on a great season and a Super Bowl win,” said Crawford.

Barrett also read a citation to the B team. He said participating in youth football has taught the B team about the importance of commitment, dedication, teamwork and good sportsmanship.

“The 2019 Lynnfield Youth Football B team, comprised of 26 young athletes and a coaching staff of six, exemplified these traits,” said Barrett.

In closing, Barrett said the selectmen “do hereby offer our congratulations and those of the town for your outstanding athletic achievements and your exemplary display of sportsmanship and teamwork.”

After the B team and the coaching staff received their citations from the selectmen, they were given a round of applause.
