LYNNFIELD — The Lynnfield High boys soccer team improved to 5-0 overall and in the Cape Ann League on Sept. 20 as they beat guest Newburyport 3-0. It was the third time the Pioneers have shutout their opponents this fall.

“We played a really good first half,” said Pioneers head coach Brent Munroe. “We scored twice and did not allow them a shot on goal. In the second half, they played much better and we were a little flat.”

Lynnfield’s next game is on Thursday afternoon as they go to Georgetown. Next Monday, the Pioneers welcome Masconomet.
