BYFIELD — The LHS boys’ track and field team traveled to Triton High School on Saturday to compete in the Cape Ann League championship Meet. 

The Pioneers had a great performance, scoring a total of 60 points to take 5th overall. 

There were a lot of personal records as the Pioneers out-performed expectations of those around the league.

Lynnfield had individual championships in four events.

Ben Kramich was a two-event champion as he took first in the pole vault with a 12’6” and first in the long jump with a 21’2” which was a personal best by over a foot.

Brett Cohee took first in the triple jump on his last leap of the afternoon as he soared 42’6”.

Anthony Floramo was the champ in the discus with a 109’0” which was a personal record by over one foot.

The Pioneers also had plenty of athletes score in the meet.

Alejandro Lynch took 6th in the 400 hurdles with a 1:01.40 and 4th in the 400 meters with a 54.09. 

Cohee was 4th in the 200 with a 23.51.

Josh Senat brought his best in the triple jump with a PR by over two feet as he snagged 5th with a 40’8.5”, just getting past his teammate Max Sieger who was 6th with a 40’8”. 

Cam Comeau took 6th in the discus with a 97’3”.

Aidan Connelly was 6th in the vault with a 10’0. 

The 4×100 relay consisting of Senat, Sieger, Lee and Cohee ran a 45.44 for 3rd. 

The Pioneers also got personal bests from Pat Walsh in the two mile as he broke his best by 15 seconds with a 10:42.62, Mike Madden in the one mile as he broke five minutes for the first time with a 4:59.66 and Chris Deschenes who ran a PR of 24.6 in the 200. 

Many of these same Pioneers will now get ready to compete at the Div. 4 State Meet Sunday at Norwell.
