Past President of Lynnfield Lions Club

NORTH READING — Anthony F. “Tony” Lucia, 70, of North Reading, formerly of Lynnfield, died Friday, Dec. 29, 2017, at Winchester Hospital.

Born in Stoneham on October 24, 1947, he was the son of the late Anthony and Laura (Colassanti) Lucia.

Tony was raised in Medford and was a graduate of Medford High School, Class of 1966. He graduated from Bentley University in 1971 and was a tax accountant who ran his own successful business. Tony had many passions and interests, with tennis, baseball, golf, bowling, cribbage and ping pong being among his favorites. He was an active member and past president of the Lynnfield Lions Club. Tony also loved to travel and had visited 33 countries in total.

He was the beloved husband of Judith E. (Doodlesack) Lucia, with whom he shared 41 years of marriage. He was the devoted father of Ashley Brooke-Lucia Jennings and her husband Chad of Melrose, and Brent Lucia of New York City. He was the loving “Papa” to Chase Jennings. He was the brother of Patrick Lucia of Braintree and the late Loretta Lucia Patrie. He is also survived by his aunt, Violet Lucia and uncle, Michael Lucia, both of Medford. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins.

A Celebration of Life will be held at the Centre Congregational Church, 5 Summer St., Lynnfield on Saturday, Jan. 20, at 11 a.m. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Arrangements in the care of the McDonald Funeral Home, Wakefield.
