Loved exercising and the outdoors

DANVERS — Barbara Ann Frawley passed away peacefully on March 27, 2020 at the age of 87.

She was the beloved wife of Arthur Frawley Jr., with whom she shared 63 years of marriage.

Barbara was born on February 28, 1933 to Thomas and Vera McGarry of West Roxbury.

A graduate of Notre Dame Academy in Boston and Emmanuel College, Barbara worked as a teacher before dedicating her life to raising her four children. Barbara and her family lived in Lynn for many years before moving to Lynnfield, a community she loved being a part of. For the past several years, Barbara resided at Brightview Senior Living in Danvers.

Barbara is fondly remembered by her family and friends for her faith, love for her family, love of music and singing and her sharp sense of humor. An avid fan of exercise and the outdoors, Barbara enjoyed golfing at Salem Country Club, practicing yoga, walking her dogs around Lynnfield, and cross-country skiing during family vacations in North Conway. She was a devout Catholic and was a parishioner at Our Lady of the Assumption in Lynnfield.

She is predeceased by her daughter Susan Frawley and her son Andrew Frawley. In addition to her husband Arthur, Barbara is survived by her daughter Deborah Bates and her husband Jeff of Danvers; and her son Arthur Frawley III of Montgomery, Alabama. She is also survived by her five grandchildren: Ryan, Kelly, and Kaitlyn Bates; and Arthur and Hope Frawley. She is also survived by several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Funeral services will be private. Arrangements are under the care of the McDonald Funeral Home, Wakefield.
