Watercolor artist loved to paint seascapes and flowers

LYNNFIELD — Barbara D. Penniston, 91, of Lynnfield, died on Thursday, July 4, 2019 at the Brigham & Women’s Hospital in Boston.

Born in Boston on March 4, 1928, she was the daughter of the late Augustus F. and Margaret E. (Bolger) Lee.

Mrs. Penniston was raised and educated in Chelsea. She had been a Lynnfield resident for over 40 years. Mrs. Penniston was a retired alarm operator for Wells Fargo in Chelsea. She was a member of the Lynnfield Art Guild and Marblehead Art Guild. She was a wonderful watercolor artist and loved to paint seascapes of the North Shore, flowers and her beloved town of Lynnfield.

Mrs. Penniston was the wife of the late Wilbur T. Penniston. She is survived by her two sons; Robert J. Penniston and his wife Nadine of Methuen and Michael F. Penniston and his wife Sandra of Saugus, her sister Margaret Fulco of Chelsea and her husband Mike, her granddaughter Dawn Penniston Murray and her husband Lucas of Hingham, her two great-grandchildren; Finnegan M. and Quinn H. Murray, her grandson Bobby Penniston and his wife Jana, her step-granddaughters; Michelle Queiroz and Nanda Ring, her step-great-granddaughters; Lanna Queiroz, Isabella Ring and Olivia Ring and her many nieces and nephews. Mrs. Penniston was predeceased by her two sisters; Anna Polino and Dorothea Censullo.

She will be remembered for her strength, her humor, her generosity, the love she had for her family and most notably, the great love she had with her husband of 70 years.

Her funeral services will be private.
