LYNNFIELD — Dean A. Triffitt, 71, of Lynnfield, devoted husband of the late Susan (Runnalls) Triffitt, died on Thursday, April 12, 2018 at his home.

Born in Lynn, he was the son of the late Eugene C. and Edith L. (Pecker) Triffitt, and graduated from Dearborn High School in Cambridge. He grew up in Lynn and lived in Lynnfield since 1976.

A U.S. Army Vietnam veteran, Dean served in Vietnam from 1967 to 1968, and rose to the rank of sergeant.

He was a member of Golden Fleece Lodge AF & AM, and was a call firefighter for the town of Lynnfield. Dean worked as a parts technician for Honda Gallery in North Reading and, retired from there in 2009.

Dean and Sue were members of St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, Lynnfield. They also loved to travel.

He leaves his beloved son Mark C. Triffitt of South Boston, a brother Dana E. Triffitt and his wife Irene of Georgetown, and several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was also the brother of the late Dale L. Hathaway.

A memorial funeral service will be held on Saturday, April 21, at 11 a.m., in St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, 127 Summer St., Lynnfield, followed by burial of ashes with Military Honors in Forest Hill Cemetery, Lynnfield, with a reception to follow in St. Paul’s Church Hall.
