LYNNFIELD — Janet R. Cartmill, 99, formerly a longtime Lynnfield resident, died Tuesday, Sept. 22, in Orlando, Fla.
Born in Boston on Aug.19, 1921, she was the daughter of the late Walter G. and Helen M. (Sibley) Rockwood. She was the beloved wife of the late William J. Cartmill Jr. and the loving mother of John W. Cartmill of Virginia, Donald W. Cartmill of Oregon and Richard A. Cartmill of Florida. She was the sister of the late Robert W. Goodspeed and the cherished grandmother of Matthew, James and Justin Cartmill, Elizabeth Long and Sarah Cartmill Odello.
Janet was a graduate of Wakefield High School and of Simmons College in Boston. She was a member of the Centre Congregational Church in Lynnfield. She had worked for American Mutual Insurance Company as well as the Lynnfield Public Library, from where she retired. Janet had enjoyed retirement years in Florida.
A private graveside service was held at Lakeside Cemetery in Wakefield. Arrangements were in the care of the McDonald Funeral Home, Wakefield.
