THE VILLAGES, Fla. — John T. Kelly Jr., 81, passed away July 22, 2018 in The Villages, Fla.

Jack, as he was known to his friends, was born July 30, 1936 in Boston to John T. and Edna (Wood) Kelly Sr.. Jack married his high school sweetheart Barbara J. Shell. They were married for 60 years and resided in Lynnfield for 40 years before moving to The Villages 12 years ago.

Jack worked for over 30 years as an engineer at MIT/Lincoln Laboratory. He remained active with his childhood hobbies of Ham radio and radio controlled airplanes. He loved fishing, discussing politics and visiting Walt Disney World. He was a veteran of the United States Naval Reserves.

Jack is survived by his wife Barbara J. Kelly, son Brian Kelly and Elizabeth Kennedy of Billerica, daughter Dina Page and her husband Richard of Haslet, Texas, daughter Jackie Cieszynski and her husband Gary of Windham, N.H., daughter Barbara J. Kelly of Maynard, sister Peggy Laliberte and her husband Armand of Chelmsford, and brother Bobby Kelly and his wife Juliette of Coventry, R.I. He is also survived by nine grandchildren and his cats Felix, Garfield and Ricky.

Jack will be interred at Puritan Lawn Memorial Park in Peabody. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to The Villages Hospice House- Cornerstone Hospice in memory of John T. Kelly, Jr.
