Enjoyed fishing, gardening and golf

LYNNFIELD — Joseph L. Nasson, 86, of Lynnfield, formerly of Melrose, died on Tuesday, April 30, 2019 surrounded by family.

Born in Boston on October 25, 1932, he was the son of the late Lazar and Constance Nasson.

Mr. Nasson was raised in Somerville and was a graduate of Somerville High School, Class of 1950. He served in the United States Coast Guard before moving on to attend Wentworth Institute of Technology, where he received his degree in Engineering. He had been a longtime Melrose resident before moving to Lynnfield in 1983. Mr. Nasson enjoyed fishing, gardening, poker and golf. But most especially, he cherished time spent with his grandchildren.

He was the beloved husband of the late Muriel C. (Blunt) Nasson. He was the loving father of Robert M. Nasson of Revere; David L. Nasson and his wife Susan; Jody L. Crowther and her husband Andrew; Jessica N. Look and her husband Robert, all of Lynnfield; Jennifer L. Forsey and her husband Steven of Wenham; and the late Janine Bacigalupo and her surviving spouse George of North Reading. He was the brother of Anesti Nasson of Braintree, James Nasson of Somerville and Robert Nasson of Lexington. He is also survived by his 18 grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

His funeral was held in the Centre Congregation Church, 5 Summer St. on Tuesday, May 7. Visitation for relatives and friends was held at the McDonald Funeral Home, 19 Yale Ave., Wakefield on Monday, May 6.
