Loved watching cooking shows

LYNNFIELD — Katherine “Kitty” A. (Sawicki) Re, 88, of Lynnfield, formerly of West Peabody, born in Boston on Thursday, Nov. 26, 1931, died on Sunday, July 26, 2020.

Kitty passed away surrounded by loved ones in her Lynnfield home after a short yet brave battle with lung cancer. Unfortunately, treatment was not an option for Kitty, so coming home to the comfort and care of her family was all she wanted.

Kitty was a lover of takeout, especially Kentucky Fried Chicken and Kowloon. She enjoyed spending time with her family and loved watching cooking shows. If you heard a short yet cheerful yodel, you knew Kitty was in a good mood. She spent her life tirelessly caring for her family, often not taking enough time to care for herself.

In her earlier years, she was a waitress at the Kernwood Country Club. She was truly a gift to all the lives that she touched.

Kitty was the daughter of the late Alexander and Eva Sawicki of Boston. She was the sister to the late Johnny, Eddie, Stanley, Mary, Lena and Joseph of Boston. She was the wife of the late Joseph S. of Lynnfield, formerly of West Peabody. Kitty is survived by a son, Gerald M. of Georgetown; a daughter, Annette E. of Woburn; and her late son Eugene W. of Chelsea. Her grandchildren Jessica K. and her fiancé Christopher M. of Stoneham; James J. “her best buddy” of Woburn; Christopher M. and his wife Melissa A. of West Peabody; Jason E. of Epping, New Hampshire; and Melissa M. of Peabody also survive Kitty. She is also survived by her great-grandchildren triplets Jane E., Abigail K. and Ryleigh A., of West Peabody.

There will be no services to follow and only a private family gathering as those were Kitty’s wishes.
