Born in Rochester, New York on September 8, 1931, he was the son of the late Guy H. and Delia (Bush) Griswold. He was a graduate of Bates College, Class of 1953 (B.S.), University of Rochester (M.A.) and Bowdoin College (M.S.).

Ken worked for Matthews and Field Lumber and Monroe High School, as a math teacher, both in Rochester, New York and as a professor at Salem State College. He has been a resident of North Reading for the past 53 years.

His strength of character, positive outlook and humble nature helped him overcome many obstacles. He was a friend to all he met. His great accomplishment was his 63-year marriage to his devoted wife Pat and his seven children. He would beam with pride anytime he talked about his family.
