LYNNFIELD — Sandra Lee (Gopen) Motzkin, 75, of Lynnfield died at her home on Tuesday, May 12, 2020 after a hard fought battle with brain cancer.

Born in Malden on August 13, 1944, she was the daughter of the late Harry and Alma (Lawson) Gopen.

Sandra was a graduate of Malden High School class of 1962. She had been a Lynnfield resident since 1975, where she was very active in the community. She was the former owner of SM Realty. She also sold full-size carousel horses from her company, Carousels of Today. She was a member of the Couples Club, Lynnfield PTA, League of Women’s Voters and the Flower Workshop.

Sandra was the beloved wife of 53 years to Joseph E. Motzkin. She was the loving mother of Joseph H. Motzkin and his wife Lisa of Lynnfield, and the late Michael M. Motzkin. She was the loving grandmother of Joseph L. Motzkin and Amanda M. Motzkin. Her brother Alan Gopen and her nephew Mark Gopen of Houston, Texas survive her. She is also survived by her many loving friends and other family members who cherished her kind and generous spirit.

Interment was at Forest Hill Cemetery in Lynnfield. Because of the current state regulations, her funeral services were private.
