Avid tennis player

LYNNFIELD — Theresa DeRosa, 88, of Lynnfield died Saturday, March 2, 2019 in Danvers.

Born in Malden on October 13, 1930 and was the daughter of the late Caesar and Josephine (DeVellis) Thomas.

She was raised in Revere and was a graduate of Revere High School and had been a Lynnfield resident since 1963. She was a retired secretary from Sears Department Store in Boston after many years of service. Mrs. DeRosa was an avid tennis player and was a member of the North East Tennis Center of Middleton and the former Colonial Club of Lynnfield. She was a parishioner of Our Lady of Assumption Church.

Mrs. DeRosa was the beloved wife of Arthur DeRosa. She was the loving mother of Glenn DeRosa and his wife Kathleen of Lynnfield, John J. DeRosa of Peabody, and the late Alan DeRosa. She was the sister of Chester and Charles Thomas, Rose Scott, and the late Jean Francesconi. She was the loving grandmother of Justin, Mark, James, Patrick, and Matthew.

Visitation for relatives and friends will be held at the McDonald Funeral Home, 19 Yale Ave., Wakefield on Thursday beginning at 9:30 a.m. to be followed by a funeral Mass in Our Lady of the Assumption Church, corner of Grove and Salem streets, Lynnfield at 11:30 a.m.
