PEABODY — The Lynnfield-Wakefield boys’ co-op swim team improved to 2-0 with a win over Ipswich on Sunday at the Torigian Family YMCA. 

In their first meet of the season on Jan. 10, Lynnfield-Wakefield beat Hamilton-Wenham 129-41.

The Pioneer-Warriors were victorious in 10 of the 12 events.

Wakefield High swimmers had multiple individual events where they went 1-2. Warrior sophomore Spencer Little got 1st in the 200 yard freestyle in 2:21.06 while WMHS freshman Cooper Davis took 2nd at 2:28.49.

Warrior freshman Evan Chan was 1st in the 50 yard freestyle at 24.97 while Wakefield senior captain Alex Kent was 2nd at 26.26. Kent also took 2nd in the 100 freestyle at 1:04.49. Little was 1st at 59.97. 

Wakefield freshman Robert Brown was 1st in the 100 yard butterfly in 1:03.87 while Chan took 2nd in 1:10.59. Brown also took 1st in the 100 yard backstroke in 1:08.21. 

The Pioneer-Warriors went 2-1 in the relays, dropping the 200 yard medley but coming back strong in the 200 free and 400 free. 

Brown and Davis teamed up with Lynnfield’s Nick Jacobs and Christian Murphy to get 1st in the 200 freestyle in 1:53.84, edging Little, Chan, Kent and Ben Sykes (1:56.03).

Brown was victorious again in the 400 freestyle relay, teaming up with Lynnfield’s Jacobs, Sykes and Adam Ho for 1st in 4:28.91.

The Pioneer-Warriors won big again vs. a shorthanded Tigers team on Sunday. 

The relay teams continued to work on improving their times. Chan, Brown and Little teamed up with Ho to take 1st in the 200 yard medley in 2:02.91. 

An all-Wakefield team of Kent, Chan, Brown and Little took 1st in the 200 yard freestyle relay in 1:46.63. 

Kent was a part of another relay 1st along with Lynnfield’s Jacobs, Sykes and Ho as they swam it in 4:26.45. 

Robert Brown had two individual 1st place finishes, getting the crown in the 200 yard freestyle (2:02.91) and the 100 yard butterfly (1:06.01). Cooper Davis was 2nd in the 200 free (2:33.92) and Kent was 2nd in the 100 fly (1:08.32). Davis also got 2nd in the 500 free (7:09.64). 

Evan Chan also got two 1st’s in the 200 yard individual medley at 2:26.78 and in the 100 yard backstroke in 1:07.81. 

Spencer Little was 1st in the 100 free in 1:00.68. He got 2nd in the 50 free in 26.43. Kent got 1st in the 50 free in 25.29. 

The Pioneer-Warriors will face Triton this Sunday.
