READING — Marie E. Velardo, 71, of Reading formerly of Wakefield, died on Monday, September 10, 2018 at the Lahey Clinic Medical Center in Burlington.
Born in Medford on April 6, 1947, she was the daughter of the late Guy and Ada (Cionfoli) Velardo.
Ms. Velardo was a graduate of Wakefield High School, Class of 1965, Northeastern University and Mass College of Pharmacy. She was the former owner and pharmacist of Greenwood Pharmacy in Wakefield. Ms. Velardo was a former member of the Wakefield Elks, Georgetown Country Club, Loudon Country Club in New Hampshire and Heritage Bay Country Club in Naples, Florida.
Ms. Velardo is survived by her two brothers; William J. Velardo, Sr. of Wakefield and Richard P. Velardo and his wife Roberta of Brockton, her longtime companion Michael DiPietro of Reading, her niece Jessica Velardo, her nephew William Velardo, Jr., her five great-nieces: Toni Marie, Giovanna, Angeliana, Victoria and Phoebe.
Visitation for relatives and friends will be held at the McDonald Funeral Home, 19 Yale Ave., Wakefield on Friday from 4-7 p.m. A graveside service will be held at the Lakeside Cemetery, North Ave., Wakefield on Saturday at 10 a.m.
