SAUGUS — Marlene R. Lawton (Malaguti), 83, of Saugus died on Wednesday, August 29, 2018 in Danvers.

She was born in Boston on December 22, 1934 and was the daughter of the late Lionel and Evelyn (O’Brien) Malaguti.

Marlene was raised in Boston and was a graduate of Roslindale High School. She had been a Saugus resident for the past 55 years. Marlene loved boating, painting, and her cats.

Marlene was the beloved wife of the late Melvin “Red” Lawton. She was the loving mother of Burt “Skeeter” Lawton and his wife Denise of Danvers, Judy Burrows and her husband Arnie of Northport, Fla., Corinne Allaire and her husband Roger of Strafford, N.H., Michele Heyde and her husband Mike of Natick, Raymond Lawton and his wife Patti of Wakefield, and the late Sandra Kanick and John “Kenny” Lawton. Sister of Evelyn Small of Amesbury and the late Natalie Capen. She is also survived by many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Marlene’s funeral will be held from the McDonald Funeral Home, 19 Yale Ave., Wakefield on Wednesday at 9:30 a.m., followed by a funeral Mass in Blessed Sacrament Church, 14 Summer St., Saugus at 10:30 a.m. Visitation for relatives and friends will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday from 4-7 p.m. Interment, Riverside Cemetery, Saugus.
