Obitmeuse-webREADING — Mary E. Meuse, 83, of Reading passed away on Dec. 27 at Melrose-Wakefield Hospital.

She was born in Franklin, N.H. on Oct. 5, 1932. She was the daughter of the late Robert O. F. and Sabrina (Varney) Cunningham.

Mary was a graduate of Franklin High School and the Concord State Hospital School of Nursing. She was a former nurse at the New England Memorial Hospital in Stoneham and the Greenview Manor Nursing Home in Wakefield.

She was a longtime resident of Stoneham before moving to Reading.

Mary enjoyed knitting at the Senior Center in Reading and spending time with her family.

She was the beloved wife the late Lawrence W. Muse. She was the loving mother of Brenda Murray and her husband Douglas of Lynn, Lawrence Meuse Jr. of Salem, N.H., Robert Meuse and his wife Linda of Derry, N.H., Carol Fisher and her husband Michael of Reading, Diane Ducey and her husband Brian of Lynn, John Meuse of Deerfield, N.H. and Sandra J. Meuse of Wakefield. Mary was the sister of Linda Medlin of Illinois, Madeline Bresse, Robert Cunningham, James Cunningham and Thomas Cunningham, all of New Hampshire. She was the loving grandmother of 13 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great-grandchild. Mary is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Her funeral will be held from the McDonald Finnegan Funeral Home, 322 Main St., Stoneham on Tuesday at 9 a.m. followed by a funeral Mass in St. Patrick Church, 71 Central St., Stoneham at 10 a.m.

Visitation for relatives and friends will be held Monday at the funeral home from 3-7 p.m.

Interment, Forest Glen Cemetery, Reading.
