MELROSE — Most of us have heard claims that addressing climate change will hurt businesses and cost millions of jobs but the opposite is actually true. Armed with an understanding of what it means to be sustainable and how it can help their business or organization, business owners and organization leaders choose to adopt sustainable practices that improve their bottom line while combatting climate change.

To help bring businesses and others up to speed on how to do this, the Melrose Energy Commission will host guest speaker Kristin Kelleher, Programs Director at the Climate Action Business Association, on Thursday, April 26 at 7:15 p.m. in the Cassidy Room at Melrose City Hall, 562 Main St.

The Climate Action Business Association (CABA) provides businesses with the resources and tools needed to work within their business on sustainability efforts, building a community of shared values and, if so inclined, political advocacy. Their mission is to help solve the climate crisis by organizing local business leaders to be more effective advocates for climate action within their businesses and communities, as well as at the state, national, and even international levels.

This event is free and open to the public. For further information, contact MEC at 781-662-2616 or MelroseEnergyChallenge@gmail.com. For additional information about CABA, visit https://cabaus.org.
