MELROSE — The Melrose High School Athletic Hall of Fame is accepting nominations for its 17th Annual Banquet and Induction Ceremony to be held on Saturday, September 21, 2019 at Memorial Hall in Melrose. Any student-athlete, coach, contributor or team are eligible for induction. To be eligible, student-athletes must have graduated in 2013 or earlier and coaches must have coached their last game in 2016 or earlier. Teams and contributors are eligible regardless of when they played.

“Over the past quarter century, the Hall of Fame has been working to promote a sense of identity and community through athletics,” said Hall of Fame President Nick Scofield. “We do so by inducting noteworthy student-athletes, coaches, contributors and teams who have best exemplified sportsmanship, time management and teamwork, along with representing their city and school with pride. Most importantly, our inductees have instilled dignity, and inspiration for future generations of Melrose High School students, coaches and teams to carry the torch and continue our rich tradition of athletic and academic excellence.”

All nominations are kept on file and only need to be submitted to the Hall of Fame’s selection committee once. Anyone can submit a student-athlete, coach, contributor or team by filling out a nomination form, which can be downloaded and printed off the Hall of Fame’s website and submitted to the address at the bottom of the form. Please include your contact information, as well as any other information pertaining to the submission (i.e newspaper clippings, letters, notes, etc.) The Hall of Fame’s website is mhsathletichof.org.

The Hall of Fame is also looking for new members for our Selection Committee and Board of Directors. Anyone with a knowledge of Melrose High School sports and/or knowledge of event planning are welcome to join.
