Published January 4, 2019 MELROSE — The Melrose Cultural Council announces the award of 21Local Cultural Council (LCC) grants totaling $10,300 for events and programs that will take place in Melrose during the 2019 calendar year. Thirty applications were submitted. The deadline for submission was October 15. Grants have been awarded to first time applicants, established arts organizations, artists and schools. Published January 4, 2019 MELROSE — EPiC-Melrose is an exciting, new community group providing a space for parents to be in conversation about their journey with their LGBTQ+ children. “Engaging Parents in Conversation” (EPiC-Melrose) is an extension program of nAGLY, the Northshore Alliance of GLBTQ Youth, which serves young people throughout the North Shore. Evans announced the graduation of the 268th class of the Massachusetts Firefighting Academy’s 50-day Career Recruit Firefighter Training Program on December 21. “This rigorous professional training provides our newest firefighters with the basic skills to perform their jobs effectively and safely,” said State Fire Marshal Ostroskey.
